Here’s my contribution to this week’s writing prompt at The Community Storyboard. Be forewarned: it’s a story of bloody horror!

Marie – well done! Great story, great atmosphere, horrific acts of violence, and plenty of blood (as promised). Being a fan of horror/dark fiction, I loved it 🙂 Have you written anything else in this genre, or was this just in response to the writing prompt? Regardless, looking forward to reading more of your work …

Thank you so much, Dave! Actually, this post is chapters 1 and 2 from my first NaNoWriMo novel. It’s been gathering dust since 2007 :). I was thinking about giving the novel another go when this prompt came up. Thanks again for your comments. They mean a lot to me.

Well, based on your comment, I’d say you might want to blow off that dust and start writing some more, or if it’s done, start working on editing and rewrites and all that stuff. Is the novel complete?
If you’re up to it, I’d love to hear a synopsis of the story.

Yes, the novel is “complete” (I have a hard time with ending anything). I’ll see if I can work up a synopsis … thanks 😉

Only if you have the time, Marie. You seem very busy these days (as in I don’t know how you keep up with everything :-), so if you don’t have the time now, no worries, ok? I just thought it was a great start to a bigger story and was curious.

Awww, Katie, that’s sweet! I’m excited that you’ll do NaNoWriMo this year. I’ll be in too. It’s the only time I really focus on my writing 🙂
